From July 4 to 7, jointly sponsored by the Center of Science and Technology of Construction at Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, dena, and Shandong Office, the Sino-German Construction Technology for Green Energy-Efficient Passive House Training Sessions hosted by Shandong Urban Construction Vocational College were held in Jinan. Over 100 people from relevant municipal and county offices of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, relevant provincial research institutes, and other building, design, construction and supervision units for provincial demonstration project attended the training session.

The training workshop focused on the installation of exterior thermal insulation systems, doors and windows, external sun shades on ultra low energy consumption green passive houses, site demonstration of thermal insulation, waterproof, and thermal bridging on parapet and roof top, as well as explanations of construction key points. The lectures were delivered by Stefan, Senior Engineer from dena, and Xiaoling Zhang, Director of the Center of Science and Technology of Construction at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development The training session intended to help the participants to acquire skills of passive house building techniques, improve construction quality, ensure the provincial demonstration project meeting the passive house requirements, and promote the development of energy efficient green passive houses in our province.

Since the launch of provincial demonstration project in 2014, we now have had over 30 housing projects included in this demonstration project, supported by RMB 230 million provincial subsidy funds with RMB 160 million already appropriated. Among these, 11 of the 2014 demonstration projects have been identified as Sino-German Construction Technology for Green Energy-Efficient Passive House projects. Three of them, including Weifang Homes for the Future, No. 27 building in New Building Materials for Residential Dwelling Units Demo in City of Rizhao, and Quancheng Park Emergency Service Center in City ofJinan, have been completed and passed the joint acceptance conducted by the Center of Science and Technology of Construction at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, dena, and our Office with “Sino-German High Efficiency Building – Ultra-low Energy Consumption Passive House Quality Certification Mark”.
